Our charity funds children’s cancer research in Newcastle upon Tyne for the benefit of children everywhere.

‘In Britain approximately one in 500 children and young people will develop cancer; that’s two people from the North east every week. This is an astonishing figure that demonstrates how urgently our research is needed.’ – Professor Josef Vormoor, The Sir James Spence Chair of Child Health at the RVI

The North of England Children’s Cancer Research Fund raises money for continuing vital research into the causes and treatment of cancer in childhood. The main objectives of the research are:

  • To increase the number of children cured of cancer
  • To make treatment less distressing
  • To improve chemotherapy
  • To individualise treatment
  • To develop new treatments

Great progress has been made in the treatment of childhood cancers over the past 30 years and with your help we can continue this progress.
